I am so excited for 2023. After a challenging couple of years I know this coming year is going to be awesome.
With the pandemic and losing a bit of enthusiasm for my business I am back on track and ready to kick major ar$e. I am writing this blog on the first of January and I am in full goal setting mode. I am usually a little loosey-goosey with goal setting, but this year I am really going for it. Every month will have different goals, both personally and professionally, and I am so ready to get started.
In this blog I'm not going to write about all my goals as I want to have some surprises and secrets, but I thought writing them down like this on a blog will help to keep me on track and accountable, and will be a bit of a kick up the bum when I need it.
So without further ado, here are some of my goals and vision for 2023.

My vision for 2023 is to get my business back on track, and to surpass my earlier success. My big business goal is to have more knit and crochet patterns available and less physical items. Eventually, I want to be all patterns and no physical items, but that switch won't fully happen until 2024/2025. In 2023 I will be working toward that huge goal.

Goal One: one new pattern per month.
Step one in going full on pattern is that I need to design a lot more patterns. I have totally slacked on this the past year or so. I have projects all made and designed, but I didn't get up to writing them up and going through the whole testing process, publishing, etc.
In 2023 I will have at least one medium to large pattern, like a shawl, scarf, cardigan, etc, per month and a number of small patterns, like hats, stash busters, etc. I will also come up with more seasonal items, and some items for men, and possibly babies/children.

Goal Two: consistent blogging
This goal is something I have actually been doing fairly well with in 2022, but it definitely needs work, and a lot more consistency. I have a schedule for my blogs but I don't always stick to it. Until now.
In 2023 I will post to the blog on my website every Tuesday and Thursday.

Goal Three: listings on a regular basis
One thing I was always strong on was adding new items regularly to my Etsy and website stores, and it definitely made a difference. It shows that you are an active and current business owner who regularly adds new products. It's also great to post about new listings on social media so people will see your new listings and be more inclined to check out your store.
In 2023 I will add three new handmade listings per week - Monday, Wednesday & Friday

Goal Four: revenue diversification
Something I have been slowly incorporating into my business is revenue diversification. I used to be all about Etsy, and then I started my website and I had the two. Since then I have diversified a fair bit, with Ravelry and Fiverr, but there is still more to do. In 2023 I am also getting into affiliate work, and I will be starting a YouTube channel.

Goal Five: video
The past year or two video has definitely overtaken photos in popularity. As much as I still love photos I must admit that even I have fallen in love with watching videos online, particularly on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
I have posted the odd video, but in no way is it a regular occurrence. Now, I'm not only going to be posting Reels and TikToks, I've also started a YouTube channel. I must admit I'm more than a little bit nervous, but I know that once I get started it will get so much easier.
So there you have it, some of my goals for 2023. I'm excited, and a bit anxious, but I know that this is going to be a fantastic year.
